Sutherland Child Care Centre is open Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 6:00pm with the exception of public holidays. Established in November 2015, we aim to cater to the child care needs of the children and families across the Sutherland Shire. Our Service consists of two rooms, the Adori room for 18months-3years olds and the Amaroo room for 3-6-year-olds. Our staff works closely together to ensure that our children benefit from a consistent and routine approach to learning. Our child-safe rooms provide the basis for ensuring that each child develops a trustworthy and positive relationship with others and their educators. Our Centre is fully air-conditioned, with sustainability embedded into the Centre’s culture, from using personal hand-towels to handmade bedsheets. Our Centre also makes use of solar energy, with children being regularly encouraged to assist in practices eco-friendly practices, in line with our sustainability culture. All our rooms open out to the heart of our Centre, our outdoor area. Our eco-friendly and sustainable outdoor area is equipped with a garden area for the children to grow their choice of veggies, fruit, herbs and various plants - which we also use in our cooking! Our shade cloth covered outdoor space also includes a sandpit, a soft fall area for climbing equipment, a trampoline and a recently built cubby-house which offer the children an opportunity to explore the great outdoors and find an appreciation for nature! At our Centre, we believe in providing healthy and nutritious meals for every child. Our experienced and well-trained on-site chef prepares all our delicious and homely meals from scratch in the Centre kitchen using fresh produce bought from our local quality grocers. We value and promote transparency and communication with our parents and families as we believe that they are the memories worth sharing and keeping. Daily diaries and observations, as well as weekly programs, are emailed to our families and parent’s outlining children’s learning experiences. We are dedicated to raising the next generation of young, independent and strong leaders with the support of our highly trained and experienced Management and staff as well as our Centre’s families.
